Cape Elizabeth Music Boosters Grant Procedures

All funding requests outside of the regular budget (line items, like the Jazz Cabaret and jazz transportation, that regularly occur and are supported by the boosters) must be requested and disbursed through the grant process.

Grant funds shall not supplant Cape Elizabeth School Department funding for music staff and programming. Booster grant funds are to be used in support of the following, but not limited to: extra-curricular programs, special guests and events, and special materials.

In order for a grant to be considered, the complete grant form must be submitted at least six (6) weeks prior to the date funds are needed. Emergency grant requests may be considered if the situation is truly urgent and unforeseen.

The person submitting the grant may have the opportunity to explain their request and answer questions. No teachers shall be present when the booster group votes on grants.

Grants shall be voted on by the membership present during the meeting at which the grant is presented. A simple majority vote shall be necessary to approve any grant. On rare/emergency occasions, the booster president may present a grant via email and request a vote via email. In that case, so long as the number of respondents represent a quorum, a simple majority of respondents may approve the grant.
